International Guest Lecture by Prof. John L. Crompton

`

The Ophthalmology Study Program, Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University held international guest lectures by presenting Professor John L. Crompton. This event aims to deepen the knowledge and provide refreshment to the ophthalmology residents through updated lectures and discussion of case reports regarding neuro-ophthalmology.

 

Professor John Crompton is a John Fawcett Foundation board member and Honorary Professor at the University of Udayana. The lecture was carried out for 2 days, firstly on Tuesday, March 8, 2022 with the discussion of Pupil Disorders, Optic Nerve Disorders, and Abnormal Eye Movements. The lecture was moderated directly by Dr. dr. AA Mas Putrawati Triningrat, Sp.M(K) as the Coordinator of the Ophthalmology Study Program, Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University. In addition, the moderator was also represented by dr. Ni Made Ayu Surasmiati, M.Biomed, Sp.M(K) and dr. Made Paramita Wijayati, M. Biomed, Sp.M.

 

On the second day on Thursday, March 10, 2022, the lecture was followed by case reports discussion presented by the resident of the Ophthalmology Study Program, Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University. The first session discussed the cases of Adie's Tonic Pupil, Horner Syndrome, and Third Nerve Palsy presented by dr. Ayu Wulandari. The second session discussed Optic Neuritis in HIV, Neuromyelitis Optica, and Autoimmune Optic Neuritis presented by dr. Yudi Supart. Meanwhile, the discussion was moderated by dr. IGA Ratna Suryaningrum, M. Biomed, Sp.M and dr. Ida Ayu Ary Pramita, M. Biomed, Sp.M.

 

The lecture was attended by several internal lecturers of the Ophthalmology Study Program, Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University and residents as participants. This lecture reflects the very positive relationships between the John Fawcett Foundation and the Udayana University, Bali.
