On Thursday, August 8, 2024, RSUP Prof. Dr. I.G.N.G. Ngoerah hosted a highly anticipated guest lecture in the Wiksa Locana Meeting Room. The event featured Prof. William Huxley Morgan, MBSS, PhD, FRANZCO, a leading expert in ophthalmology, as the keynote speaker. Prof. Morgan delivered a compelling presentation on “Opportunities and Challenges in Applying Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Glaucoma Management in Indonesia.”

In his presentation, Prof. Morgan explored the immense potential of AI to aid in early diagnosis, monitor disease progression, and improve treatment accuracy for glaucoma patients. However, he also highlighted several challenges, including limitations in technological infrastructure, insufficient local data, and the need for more comprehensive training for medical professionals.

In addition to the lecture, several Udayana ophthalmology residents had the opportunity to present challenging case reports they encountered. The interactive discussions with Prof. Morgan provided fresh insights and enriched the participants' understanding of glaucoma management.
