Ophthalmology Study Program, Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University / Sanglah Hospital held an Ocular HIV Webinar event which occured online on Saturday, February 26, 2022.

Coordinator of the Ophthalmology Study Program, Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University, Dr. dr. A. A. Mas Putrawati Triningrat, Sp.M(K) said that this webinar was the second Travel Medicine and Ocular HIV webinar, following the one which had previously been held in November 2021. As before, this webinar aims to introduce the major course in the Udayana University's Ophthalmology Study Program, namely Ocular HIV and Travel Medicine.

The Ocular HIV Webinar was held in 2 days and mainly discussed the eye diseases related to HIV infection. The first day of the webinar was attended by more than 200 participants, and involved a total of 7 speakers both nationally and internationally.

Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University, Dr. dr. Komang Januartha Putra Pinatih, M.Kes in his speech said that the topic chosen in this webinar was very interesting because it discussed eye disorders related to HIV infection, as it is known that until now, HIV/AIDS problem in Indonesia is considered as an iceberg phenomenon. It is hoped that this webinar will provide benefits for ophthalmologists, general practitioners, and resident to extend their understanding, competence and skills regarding diseases in the field of Ophthalmology related to HIV.
