International Ophthalmology Symposium Bali (IOSB) 2023
IOSB 2023 is the first in-person international event held by Perdami Bali after the COVID-19 pandemic hit 3 years ago. This event was held at the Bali Nusa Dua Convention Center for 2 days from 18th to 19th March 2023. After the previous two successful IOSB events in 2015 and 2017, this year's IOSB carries the theme "Updates in Ocular Diagnostics and Surgery".
IOSB 2023 presents interesting scientific sessions by presenting well-known speakers at the national and international levels. On the first day the event started with presentation by I Ketut Widiyasa, MD, MPH, then the event was divided into 4 sessions, session 1 with the topic Retina with speakers Ari Andayani, MD. and Sjakon G. Tahija, MD., session 2 with the topic Glaucoma with speakers Prof. William Morgan. PhD, MBBS, FRANZCO and Indira Paudyal, MBBS, MD., session 3 with the topic Neuro Ophthalmology and Lenses with speakers Prof. Tan Woon Teck Clement, AA Mas Putrawati T, MD., Eisuke Shimizu, MD., PhD., and Siska, MD., and session 4 with the topic Oculoplasty with speakers Ni Made Laksmi Utari, MD. and Dr. Jean-Louis deSousa, MB BS, FRANZCO, MANZSOPS.
On the second day the event was divided into 3 sessions, session 1 with the topic Corneal Refractive Surgery with speakers Ariesanti Tri Handayani, MD. and Dini Dharmawidiarini, MD., session 2 with the topic Glaucoma with speakers Prof. William Morgan. PhD, MB BS, FRANZCO and IGA Ratna Suryaningrum, MD, then session 3 young ophthalmologist symposium with speakers Prof. Tan Woon Teck Clement, Indira Paudyal MBBS, MD., Eisuke Shimizu, MD., PhD., and Dini Dharmawidiarini, MD, and continued with the presentation of phacoemulsification cataract surgery cases by resident Ranzco and presentation of MSICS cataract surgery cases by residents of Udayana University with their representative Cokorda Istri Winny Prabasari, MD, which were followed by discussions with the panelists. The event ended with the announcement the winners of e-poster competition and photography competition. The whole event ran smoothly and was greeted enthusiastically by approximately 300 participants from various regions in Indonesia and from other countries, and this event was also supported by many sponsors who helped run the event.
